Tena Parish the owner of TLCakes has been
a cake decorator/pastry chef for 28 years. What started out as just a hobby has turned into a full time career.
In 1980, Tena took a Wilton cake decorating course and fell in love with making cakes for family and friends. Tena's
first job in 1983 was working for Alpine Pastry in Concord where she started out at counter sales. When a position became
available for an apprentice cake decorator. Tena tried out for, and received the position. Tena worked for Alpine Pastry
for a total of 12 years. Tena has also worked for Safeway as a cake decorator/bakery manager for a total of 15 years.
In 2004, Tena and her husband purchased an established Bakery in Isleton, CA and changed the name of the business
to Parish Pastries. They successfully ran the business for 6 months. When a major catastrophe occurred with the
building, the bakery was forced to close.
In 2007, TLCakes (Tena Loves Cakes) was started.
